Here are 11 Lessons I’ve learned from one of my mentors, Kent Clothier, over the last 7 years.
These are great words to live by. Thanks Kent, I appreciate these lessons you’ve shared, and instilled in me.
Here we go:
“The time is now.” – There is no other time that matters more than right now.
“This ain’t practice. You’re in the game right now. Play to win today.” – Every day counts. There are no “practice days” in life.
“Hope is not a strategy.” – Have a plan, do the work. Don’t hope.
“What you focus on, expands.” – You become what you think about.
“You speak your future.” – Words are powerful. Choose your language wisely.
“Know what you stand for. Know what you stand against.” – When you know these 2 things, intention is clear, and everything else becomes obsolete. You live a life based on your core values.
“A lot is lost between the cup and the lip.” – Details and attention are important, or you will lose quality in your work.
“Write down your perfect day.” – This exercise is powerful to vividly create and shape your ideal life.
“Fire yourself as many times as you possibly can.” – Do what your passionate about and outsource everything else.
“Work backwards. Think and act with the end in mind.” – When you know what your desired outcome is, all the busy work subsides, and you start taking the right steps towards progress.
“Don’t fear failure. Fear regret.” – Life is short. Do the things you want to do, and don’t fear screwing up. What you should fear is missing out on the opportunities.
