It’s happened to all of us.
We listen to a great song. We listen to a powerful film score during a great movie.
Then…
We get that chill.
You can’t really describe it, but it’s amazing.
It’s tingles throughout your entire body.
I love that feeling.
The late, great, Jim Rohn, once said, “Let the lyrics inspire and touch you. Let the music stir your heart.”
He was giving a speech on personal development and he was discussing the importance of capturing certain moments from the music you listen to, or the movies you watch. What can you get from it? What can you learn from it?
The music in our World is a true blessing.
Music is an expression for the individual playing or listening to music. And it is their choice of that expression. And that is a great thing.
Music can instantly change your state. Music can get you pumped up for a sporting event. Music can get you focused to work (I’m listening to some kick ass music on Pandora right now as I write this). Music can help you calm down and breathe while in meditation. Music creates the perfect ambience for a dinner with a loved one.
It’s incredible how much your state will change in the morning when you wake up to a song you love, instead of the annoying buzzer you want to snooze every 10 minutes.
There are messages in the lyrics of music, and if you listen closely, there is something to be gained and inspired by as we listen. Music in just the last 100 years has painted of picture of the times. Music brushes a snapshot on a canvas of history, of the struggles we’ve endured, and the triumphs we’ve accomplished during that history.
Music gives you signs and conscious coincidences:
Just 6 months ago, I was on a Virgin America flight where they play cool in flight music (which is really cool, by the way), and I was writing my travel goals for the next 2 years on paper. While I was writing destinations I’d like to see, the song “Come Fly With Me,” by Frank Sinatra started playing. I just laughed and smiled. Then I listened to see if any of Frank’s destinations would be a fun travel goal for me. Ironically, Frank Sinatra and I were both born in North Jersy. 😉
Music will help give you ideas and feed your creativity.
Let the music stir your heart.
Let the music be your inspired fuel.
